Read the interaction name before pressing it

Read the prompt beside the object before using Steal From The Rich controls. Taking a crate, opening a ready crate and managing a treasure are different interactions. On desktop, look for E Steal at the target and E Open Crate at a ready crate on your base.

Follow the input in your current session. The official game page lists desktop, mobile, console and tablet support. These E prompts describe desktop interactions; on a touchscreen or controller, use the input shown on that device instead of trying to copy the keyboard command.

Taking a crate and carrying it home

Approach the NPC’s crate and find the theft interaction. The desktop prompt at Gold Tycoon reads E Steal. Read the action name along with the input so you know which nearby object you are about to use.

After pickup, the carrying screen shows Drop and tells you to run. Decide which way to return before taking the crate. Reading every interface button during the chase adds another distraction while you are trying to find your way home.

Drop is visible while carrying. Leave it alone when your goal is to deliver the crate. Do not plan around assumptions about how long a dropped crate stays there, whether another player can take it or what else happens after you drop it.

Placement and opening are different steps

Return to your own plot and use its placement prompt. You cannot place an item outside your own plot. If placement fails, check where you are standing before trying unrelated controls.

After placement, read the crate’s appraisal countdown or READY label to find the next step. A crate still counting down needs a different action from the treasure in your hands after you open it.

SituationWhat to check
Beside an NPC crateThe theft action and its displayed input
Carrying a crateYour return route and the visible Drop control
At your baseWhether you are on your own plot and can place the object
Placed crate still waitingIts appraisal countdown
Crate marked READYThe opening prompt on that crate

Read the opening crates guide if the timer is stopping you from proceeding.

Use menus for the task they describe

Open Index for collection progress and claimable rewards. In My Items, review equipped treasures, use UNEQUIP or select Equip Best. Appraise Crates is a separate sidebar for managing appraisal.

Read an action’s explanation before confirming it, especially if a payment is involved. Appraise All is in the appraisal sidebar, but its name does not mean every crate opens instantly for free. Keep the menu’s stated action separate from what you hope the button will do.

The base upgrades guide covers capacity and equipped-space controls. The Item Index guide explains collection rewards.

Troubleshoot the object and state first

If the action you expect is missing, check what you are holding and where you are standing. A ready crate, an appraising crate and a revealed treasure have different next steps. Read the prompt for the object in front of you instead of repeatedly pressing the last input that worked.

On another supported device, use its current action label and displayed input. Check that device’s interface for mobile or console bindings. Read the visible SlowMode control’s explanation before relying on a particular effect from it.

FAQ

Which key steals a crate on desktop?

The desktop interaction is E Steal. Follow the prompt beside your target in the current session.

Which key opens a ready crate?

Look for E Open Crate on desktop. Check that the placed crate shows READY and that your interaction is aimed at that crate.

Why does placement fail away from my base?

Placement is restricted to your own plot. Return there and check the placement prompt.

Can I play on mobile or console?

The official description lists both, along with desktop and tablet. Follow the controls shown on your device rather than treating a desktop prompt as its binding.

Does Appraise All open every crate for free?

Do not read that effect into the button’s name. Check the current action, cost and confirmation before using it.
